INTEGRATION has wide experience in implementing energy projects, especially renewable energy programmes including hydropower, photovoltaic systems, solar-thermic and wind energy.

INTEGRATION is specialised in the implementation of RE programs, our approach is to combine the technical features of the project with socio-economic, socio-cultural and gender-specific activities. Thus we focus on the development of adapted tariff structures and the implementation of private ownership systems as well.

INTEGRATION project examples:

MONGOLIA: Promotion of Renewable Energy (2002 - 2007): The purpose of the project is to enhance the utilization of locally available renewable energy (RE) resources, mainly solar energy, hydropower and wind, and to strengthen market-driven mechanism for RE dissemination in urban and rural areas. The project will also strengthen market driven mechanisms for the dissemination of Renewable Energy applications in rural as well as in urban areas.

ECUADOR: Sustainable Use of Hydropower Resources (2003 - 2005): The project’s objective is to provide advanced access to electricity through hydropower usage in the understructured forest area of Gran Sumaco – Napo Galeras at the spring of the Amazonas River.

With the construction of another decentralized SHP the hydropower resources are utilized in order to improve the living conditions of the local target groups in the Nature Preserve Area of Gran Sumaco.

PAKISTAN: National Programme for Promotion of Hydropower (2003 - 2005): Reform of the power sector through restructuring and deregulation is high on the agenda of the Government of Pakistan (GOP). The GOP is committed to pursue a far reaching reform program for the power sector to help meet the country’s future energy needs. This reform includes the development of indigenous resources for power development. This project will aid in meeting this objective as it has the goal to develop renewable energy systems, in particular hydropower, at economically efficient costs while mitigating any negative social and environmental aspects.

CHINA/TIBET: Rural Infrastructure and Vocational Training (2001 - 2006): The program’s objective is to assist the local rural population to increase agricultural output through enhancement of irrigation and to create sustainable jobs in the handicraft and workshop sector. The program components include:

  • Informal vocational training (in rural areas)
  • Irrigation and water management and (rural infrastructure)
  • Rehabilitation of small hydropower plants (rural infrastructure)
