We provide specialized consulting services on energy access, decentralized renewable energies, environmental management and energy efficiency adjusted to the local context in Asia, Eastern Europe, Africa and Latin America.     What We’re Looking For 

    As part of our dynamic team engaged in the implementation of renewable energy projects, you will support, coordinate and administer works under the supervision of our project managers and be increasingly involved in business development support tasks, including business acquisition. You will have the chance to work in a diverse cultural landscape, with partners in developing countries and emerging markets. 

    Your Responsibilities 

    • Planning and coordination of partners and experts, including maintenance of databases 
    • Providing back-end support to project activities, such as research and analysis 
    • Monitoring work progress and quality control of deliverables in the English language 
    • Project administrative support, including project monitoring and support to standardization processes 
    • Support to project financial controlling and invoicing 
    • Support to business acquisition and business development processes 

    Your Know-how and Profile 

    • Registered student in business studies, sciences, international relations or comparable in a local or regional university (Nürnberg Metropolitan Area) 
    • Proficiency in MS office suite, advanced skills in Excel and databases 
    • Good communication skills in English, working knowledge of German an advantage 
    • Organized, solution and process oriented, analytical and agile

  • Business Development Specialist (m/f/x) - Supporting International Energy Transition (Ref. Nr. 37)

    Job Description:

    As part of our assignment for GIZ in Pakistan, we further develop a bilateral energy network – the Pakistan-Germany Renewable Energy Forum, PGREF. The PGREF is set up to serve as a forum for private sector engagement in sustainable energy activities, with the goal to support the energy transition in Pakistan by facilitating business relations with German solution providers and manufacturers. The PGREF will focus on selected Opportunity Areas, e.g. Grid digitalization and modernization, renewable energy technologies, energy market transition, decarbonization of the industrial sector and phase-out of conventional power. The PGREF will initiate Change Dialogue for new areas, create working groups on practitioner level to engage peer groups. The ultimate goal of the PGREF is to create the space and networks for business in the energy transition. The PGREF will be part of the broader Energy and Climate Initiative between Pakistan and Germany, which will provide political flanking. 

    We are looking for an agile business development specialist to support us in guiding work processes of the PGREF and building-up industry networks between Germany and Pakistan.

    Location:

    The position can be full or part-time (60%+) and is based in Germany, preferably in Berlin or Nuremberg, with travels to Islamabad. Alternative modes of cooperating, e.g. freelancing, can be explored. 

    Your Responsibilities:

    You will support the emergence of a climate and energy network in Pakistan by fostering partnerships among German and Pakistani institutions from business, science and public sector. Relevant means to this end will be peer to peer exchanges, dialogue format and bilateral partnerships next to training. 

    Your tasks include 

    • Analyze energy market challenges and opportunities in Pakistan and identify business opportunities for German actors supporting energy transition in Pakistan 
    • Initiate business network development through various formats, e.g. participation in workshops, conferences, fairs or exposure trips. 
    • Support dialogue formats and working groups for the targeted provision of expertise from Germany and internationally 
    • Facilitate partnerships between German and Pakistani players in the RE field, e.g. through cooperation with associations and multipliers in relevant business fields 
    • Operationalize the communication strategy by supporting the development of communication material and knowledge products 

     Your Know-how and Profile 

    Working experience 

    • At least three years of working experience in business development, transaction advisory, finance, match-making and developing networks 
    • Sectoral knowledge of the energy transition, renewable energy, environment and climate sectors in Germany and relevant networks, initiatives, organisations as well as associations 
    • Understanding of the broader German energy transition and climate policy 
    • Planning and organization of dialogue formats, workshops, webinars and events 
    • Project management experience 
    • Exposure to development partners (e.g. GIZ, World Bank, KfW, UN), consulting companies, NGOs or think tanks in the field of international cooperation is an advantage 

    Soft skills:

    • Excellent communication skills, good ability to build rapport and nourish business relations 
    • Strong analytical skills, organized, structured, solution-oriented, agile, team player 
    • Motivated in identifying and implementing innovative network and learning solutions 
    • Excellent presentational skills 
    • Willingness to travel 
    • Experience in developing countries is an advantage 

    Background:

    • Background in business administration, law, social science, energy, or comparable
