Climate Change Strategy and Action Plan - Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan (June – August 2016)
INTEGRATION has been contracted by Gilgit-Baltistan Environmental Protection Agency to formulate the Climate Change Strategy and Action Plan for the province to deal with climate change impacts through adaptation and mitigation measures. The objectives of the study are to identify and assess cost effective, technically feasible, and economically viable mitigation and adaptation scenarios for the years 2020, 2025 and 2030.
The strategy is to be first of its kind in Pakistan. It will enable the government of Gilgit-Baltistan to streamline the development process by setting sustainable goals and tangible targets in response to various scenarios of climate change. The strategy will further ensure mainstreaming of climate change strategy into future provincial development goals and international financing programmes in the region.
